TOUR DE LA VILLA - ROME pt. 10 - HADRIAN'S VILLA

[I am realizing that I made the last two posts as a 'pt. 11' when it should be a 'pt. 10'! Ahhh!]

Today (Sunday) was yet another fun-filled day of visiting villas in and around Rome. Yay! The two we visited as a class today were a bit closer than Friday's which made for a nice, quick bus ride which was...well, nice! The first villa we visited was Hadrian's. This site is massive and also built in antiquity (around the same time as the Colosseum and Roman Forum) so it's basically acres of Roman ruins which made things a bit difficult. A good amount of imagination was put into use during our time at this villa. While Hadrian's Villa was interesting, to say the least, it was difficult for me to appreciate it fully because there wasn't much there to appreciate. That may sound bad because "it's amazing that these people thousands of years ago could make something this grand" or "we're lucky there's still anything standing". Yea, okay it's really cool but I still didn't like it as much as the other villas I had the chance to visit ha! Anyway, here are a few photos from my couple of hours at Hadrian's Villa!

^ This was probably the most complete and beautiful part of all of Hadrian's Villa (below as well).
