Happy Valentine's Day! After 1.5 months of living in Italy I finally ventured out of the city of Rome to the region of Tuscany for a day of wine tasting and sightseeing. It was amazing! The rolling hills, the vistas, the adorably quaint hillside towns are all so beautiful and I was very happy for the opportunity to get out and see the sights. We took about a 2.5 hour bus ride up to a couple of vineyards and wineries nestled in the hillsides to tour the facilities and learn the proper method of tasting wine. I tried wines from 2009-2013, oaky and sweet. While it was a great learning experience I also found that a day full of wine tasting will turn your nose to the thought of wine for at least a week ha. I had a great time and I think that it was the perfect first travel trip! Next up is Barcelona!
[After a long day I was very anxious to come back to my apartment in Rome and get to editing some of the photos I took from the day's adventures. I came to the very sad realization that my photo 'quality' settings were all wrong causing every picture to be composed of very large pixels that distort the images...aka you can't do anything with them. Needless to say, I was fairly upset but I got creative and this is what I have to show of my time in Tuscany! Kind of a collage of images from the day.]
^ Recognize the right image? This is the main piazza and town hall in the village of Montepulciano, Italy where the scene from the Twilight Saga's New Moon was filmed. You know, the one where Edward is about to reveal to everyone dressed in red robes in the piazza that he is a vampire but Bella comes sprinting across the way to save him from making an awful mistake? Yea. Much of the film was shot in the hills of Tuscany. Pretty cool!
^ Oh but of course! I found a couple of people to take some pictures of ha!
