APARTMENT TOUR - ROME pt. 04

This probably should've been one of the first but I'm finally coming around to putting a post out here about my living situation in Rome.  Our particular apartment is in the "new" sector of Rome (new meaning built within the past 200 years ha) North of the Vatican City and about 1.5 miles from the mouth of the city center in a neighborhood known as Prati.  This particular neighborhood was designed under Parisian influence so it is composed of a very gridded street system similar to the metropolis's I'm used to back home.  This is very different from "Old Rome" that you read about in story books or see in Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck's Roman Holiday. While mostly residential, Prati does have the occasional cafe and shopping strip but we have to make quite the trek to get to "all the fun stuff".  We're loving it nonetheless!

^ A map of the apartment (North Dot) in relation to the location of our school (South Dot).  It's about 1.5 miles or so that we have to walk everyday to and from school.

^ The apartment is very bright and spacious.  While we may complain about not experiencing all of the romanticism of a quaint Roma we do have the better setup as far as the apartment layout is concerned.

^ The view out of our 5th floor window. I love the fact that we can open the shutters and windows for some fresh air.

^ The view out of the dining room looking into the courtyard on the backside of the apartment.

So far so good in our fancy Italian apartment. Thanks for taking a look!
